Gatarwa Kariuki is a Project Officer with the Livestock Information Network and Knowledge System (LINKS), a project of the Global Livestock Collaborative Research Support Program. Before joining LINKS, he worked as a research scientist in socioeconomics at the Kenya Agricultural Research Institute, the premier national agricultural research institute in Kenya. He also worked as a research associate with the World Agroforestry Center (ICRAF) and as a consultant for FAO project on Impact of HIV/AIDS on agriculture and rural livelihoods in the Lake Victoria Crescent Agroecological Zone of Uganda. He has wide experience in pastoral livestock marketing systems and socioeconomic issues relating to collective action for agricultural innovations, natural resource management and marketing in Kenya.
